Job Description - Hills Audio Oversight

Our Creative Technology team is currently looking for a Hills Audio Oversight to join the team. This role will be 


responsible for delivering high-quality audio across all church services, events, and projects at your campus. This includes leading and developing the volunteer audio team, managing audio systems, ensuring smooth technical operations, and maintaining a healthy, growth-focused team culture.


 


Other aspects of this role include:


Weekend Services & Roster



  • Responsible for the rostering of the CT Audio team for all church events, including weekend services, special events, and mid-week services.

  • Responsible for the overall outcomes in relation to audio across all services and events. This includes, but is not limited to, mixing audio during services, rostering positions, leading the audio team, and team development.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and the team to define and maintain the expected audio standards and outcomes for services.

  • Set up and adjust audio equipment, operate sound mixing consoles, and manage associated technology to ensure optimal volume levels and sound quality.


 


Team Leadership & Team Training



  • Build a healthy team culture where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow in both their skills and find their place of involvement in church life.

  • Intentionally invest in team members, helping them take on greater responsibility and leadership roles where appropriate.

  • Develop team leaders who care for volunteers and assist with rostering, confirming positions, training, and providing ongoing support to them.

  • Establish effective training structures and programs that equip the Audio team members to upskill and step into new roles. This may involve leading training directly or facilitating opportunities through team members with specialised expertise.


 


Systems & Maintenance



  • Responsible for all Audio & Control systems (including, but not limited to Qsys, Riedel, Dante, Lake Controller, Waves, ProTools and other software/platforms), develop and maintain accurate documentation, and coordinate regular system maintenance.

  • Ensure timely resolution of campus maintenance issues, including troubleshooting problems that could impact service delivery.

  • Consider upgrades and ways to improve the way we use equipment.

  • Work with the CT engineering team on ongoing system problems and projects.

  • Manage and organise audio recording files, ensuring files are properly stored and accessible.


 


CT National & Operational Support



  • Provide audio support for the Hills television studio, working collaboratively with the Art and Communications teams.

  • Assist with special events, conferences and projects alongside the CT National Team.


 



Ideally, the successful candidate will bring:



  • Proven experience in live audio production, including mixing for large-scale events and church services

  • Strong technical knowledge of audio systems (including, but not limited to Qsys, Riedel, Dante, Lake Controller, Waves, ProTools and other software/platforms) and troubleshooting in live environments

  • Familiarity with Audio Roles for Front of House, Monitors, Broadcast and best practices for these roles

  • Confident in assessing audio outcomes and communicating effectively with both technical teams and stakeholders

  • Understanding of production workflows and budget management within a church environment
