Hotel Manager - Room for Advancement

ABOUT US

We own and operate a beautiful recently renovated boutique hotel, directly across the road from the beach, located on the Southern Gold Coast, in Bilinga. The hotel offers high quality accomodation, a bar & cafe and a pool along with areas for small functions and stunning beach views.  

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced Hotel Manager to join our dynamic and focused team. 

This is a full time role, but the salary and hours offered will be negotiated based on experience and what skills you can bring to our team. 

The role will be a blend of day to day operational duties and customer service, ensuring the hotel is running efficiently and to the high satisfaction of our guests. 

The Hotel Manager will report directly to the owner. Tasks and responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to:

• Management of day to day operations and hotel staff performance 
• Manage and liaise with external contractors as required 
• Management of rosters 
• Manage hotel compliance 
• Process and assist with check-in and check-out of guests
• Assist in all areas of the hotel where required (such as food & beverage operations, small events, housekeeping) 
• Complete room checks to ensure Housekeeping has been completed to a high standard 
• On boarding new staff as required 
• Be responsible for the health and safety of all guests and staff
• Meet sales and operational targets 
• Work with our marketing department to promote the hotel 
• Answer customer and guest enquires in an efficient and friendly manner via phone, email and in person 
• Manage and resolve guests concerns in a timely and appropriate manner to ensure optimum guest satisfaction 

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

The ideal candidate will have: 

• A current RSA / RMLV / Approved Managers License 
• Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisor or management position within the hospitality industry 
• Experience within a hotel that provides accommodation 
• Proficient back-office skills (reservation systems, cash handling, reporting) 
• Exceptional day to day hotel operational management skills 
• High level communication skills (verbal and written) 
• High level customer service focus required 
• Strong attention to detail 
• Very strong leadership skills, can lead by example and motivate a team
• Excellent personal presentation 
• Full availability as this position involves night and weekend work on a rotating roster
