Job Description - Hotel Service Assistant

We are looking for a special kind of person – a St Vincent’s kind of person. Someone who puts compassion, connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do.

As a Food Services Assistant, you’ll be part of an experienced, engaged and dedicated team helping to create a welcoming, professional and supportive care experience for the residents of our Mitchelton Facility.

We have permanent part-time and casual shift available weekdays and weekends.

St Vincent's Care Services Mitchelton (historically known as St Joseph’s Villa , Madonna Villa and Oxford Park) offers an enviable retirement lifestyle within a quiet, leafy suburb less than 10 kilometres from Brisbane’s CBD. Mitchelton is a quiet and leafy residential suburb northwest of Brisbane’s CBD. Set high on a hill, the carefully restored former monastery at St Vincent’s Care Services Mitchelton is a prominent landmark and is complemented by expansive facilities and amenities.

The location is well-served by transport links and nearby shopping, entertainment and medical services. You will enjoy comfort and convenience, as well as the peace and tranquility of mature gardens and city and mountain views.

Things that work for us:

Experience in an aged care facility or hospital environment providing services that support high quality food services outcomes for residents, customers and staff of the Facility

High level of customer service skills

Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

Previous experience in a similar role

An ability to provide a catering and kitchen service that is consistent with the mission and philosophy of our organisation;

An ability to work within a multidisciplinary team;

An understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities;

Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities

Current flu and COVID-19 vaccination and National Police Certificate (within the last 6 months)

NDIS Worker Screening Check may be a requirement of this role.
