Job Description - HR Director, Puig Oceania


The Opportunity

The HR Director is responsible for leading and executing the full spectrum of human resources strategy and operations across Oceania. This role partners closely with business leaders and the APAC HR function to ensure the organisation attracts, develops, and retains high-performing talent aligned to current and future business objectives.


 


Balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution, the HR Director will drive impactful HR initiatives, ensure compliance with local employment legislation, and build a high-performance, people-first culture across both Head Office and Retail environments.

What you'll get to do

HR Strategy & Business Partnership



  • Lead the development and execution of the Oceania HR strategy aligned with regional and global priorities

  • Partner with senior leaders to identify workforce trends, capability gaps, and organisational needs

  • Provide strategic advice on organisation design, talent planning, and change management

  • Evaluate future workforce needs and adapt HR plans to support business growth


 


 Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning



  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment strategy, ensuring strong talent pipelines across Head Office and Retail

  • Partner with leaders to proactively identify hiring needs and succession plans

  • Optimise sourcing channels and agency partnerships to deliver quality hires in a cost-effective way.

  • Ensure a best-in-class candidate and onboarding experience


 


Talent Management & Development



  • Lead performance management frameworks to drive a high-performance culture

  • Partner with leaders to identify, develop, and retain high-potential talent

  • Oversee learning & development initiatives and leadership capability building

  • Drive organisational development, engagement and culture initiatives


 


 Reward, Payroll & HR Governance



  • Oversee compensation and benefits frameworks, ensuring alignment with market and business strategy

  • Lead annual budgeting and workforce cost planning

  • Ensure governance and oversight of payroll (via external provider)

  • Maintain and evolve HR policies, ensuring compliance with local legislation and company standards


 


Employee Relations & Compliance



  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations across Oceania

  • Support investigations, grievance handling, and risk management

  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and compliant workplace


 


HR Operations & Reporting



  • Oversee all HR operations, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery

  • Ensure accurate HR reporting, including headcount, cost analysis, and workforce metrics

  • Maintain strong HR systems, data integrity, and compliance with data privacy requirements

  • Lead execution of key HR initiatives and operational plans


 


Leadership & Team Development



  • Lead, coach and develop the HR team to build capability and engagement

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing HR function aligned with business needs

  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and people-first leadership

We'd love to meet you if you have

Experience:



  • 5 years + experience in a senior HR leadership role, with end-to-end HR accountability

  • Proven experience partnering with senior stakeholders and driving business-aligned HR strategies

  • Experience managing both strategic and operational HR responsibilities

  • Experience in retail or luxury / consumer goods environments

  • Experience supporting store networks or expansions

  • Exposure to regional (APAC) HR structures


 


Education:



  • Degree in Human Resources or related discipline

  • MBA in HR / Business or Post-grad preferred


 


Languages: English


 


Specific Knowledge required/preferred:



  • Strong knowledge across all HR disciplines including talent acquisition, talent management, reward, and employee relations

  • Deep understanding of Australian/Oceania employment legislation and HR compliance requirements

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to link HR strategy to business outcomes

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Strong analytical and reporting capability
