ABOUT THE POSITION
HillSide Christian College is seeking applications for an individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills for a full-time position as HR Officer (0.5FTE) and Personal Assistant to the Business Manager (0.5FTE). The successful applicant will be a practicing evangelical Christian who is able to demonstrate and work within the College’s Christian framework. All applicants wishing to submit an application should be able to demonstrate their personal faith in Jesus Christ as God and Saviour, and be an active member of an evangelical Christian Church. The position is initially for 12 months. Any appointment to the position will be dependent upon the successful applicant signing the College’s Code of Conduct (including Statement of Faith) and the Employment Contract..

Main Duties and Responsibilities - Human Resources Officer
- Coordinate recruitment and termination processes.
- Coordinate staff inductions and exit procedures.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to foster and maintain positive relationships.
- Manage pre-employment compliance checks such as Working with Children, Police Clearance, TRBWA registration and appointment documentation.
- Monitor and maintain employment compliance checks to meet legislation and College policy.
- Maintain personnel records, including personnel files and databases with attention to detail.
- Ensure integrity of data to support the College’s payroll functions.
- Coordinate worker’s compensation claims and injury management processes.
- Research, identify and implement appropriate HR solutions in consultation with the Business Manager.
- Other duties as required to support the College’s human resource functions.

- Other duties as required from time to time as requested by the Principal or delegate.
Main Duties and Responsibilities - Personal Assistant
- Provide exceptional and professional administrational support to the Business Manager.
- Assist the Business Manager by scheduling meetings, managing incoming enquiries and outgoing communications.
- Prepare correspondence and other documentation as required by the Business Manager.
- Undertake research, prepare draft reports and take minutes at meetings as required.
- Support the events and activities of the College’s Staff Wellness Program.
- Other duties as required from time to time as requested by the Principal or delegate.
Selection Criteria - Human Resources Officer
- Demonstrated skills, qualifications or experience in similar role.
- Written and oral communication skills that demonstrate the ability to provide accurate information retrieved from multiple sources.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels through interpersonal communication skills that maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills relevant to the interpretation and application of legislated employment Awards, conditions and Standards.
- Demonstrated strong organisational and time-management skills to meet competing priorities, deadlines and College outcomes.
Selection Criteria - Personal Assistant
- Demonstrated highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Interpersonal skills that demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a team.
- Previous experience in a similar role, with proven ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated organisational skills to manage administrative tasks efficiently, work independently and contribute to effective outcomes.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make informed decisions in a narrow timeframe.
- Demonstrated high level of computer literacy with proficiency in a variety of software packages with ability to produce a range of documents.
- Experience with Synergetic, SEQTA and MSOffice products, within an Apple Mac environment would be considered highly desirable.
Essential Compliance Documents

- Hold or obtain a satisfactory National Police Clearance.
- Sign the College’s Code of Conduct (including Faith Statement) and the Employment Contract.

Renumeration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The provisions of the Education Services (Schools) General Staff Award 2020 will apply.
