HSE Advisor

The Opportunity
Evolve Safety are partnering with a well-established Gold Coast-based civil infrastructure contractor to recruit an experienced HSE Advisor to support ongoing civil and utilities projects across South-East Queensland.

This role is based on the Gold Coast, with a tool-of-trade vehicle provided to support travel between multiple project sites across the region.

The Role
Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of employees and contractors on this site, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organisation. The successful candidate will be familiar with, hazard reporting, safety observations, and investigation skills.

Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day HSE advice and support across civil construction sites
• Implement and maintain the company's WHS Management System
• Review and approve SWMS, JHAs and high-risk work activities
• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety observations
• Support incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Engage with subcontractors to ensure compliance and safe work practices
• Assist with internal, client and regulatory audits
• Promote continuous improvement and a positive safety culture

To be successful you must bring:

• Cert IV OHS qualification as a minimum
• 2-5 years of experience in an Safety role within civil construction or infrastructure
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate safety messages to employees and contractors at all levels of the organisation
• Current drivers license
