Job Description - Human Resources Business Partner

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join an international organisation, one of the largest bus companies in Australia, ComfortDelGro. Based in Newcastle, you will support the regional businesses through contemporary HR processes and initiatives across our New South Wales and ACT teams.

In this role you will work autonomously, with solid support from the GM Regional New South Wales, and the broader People & Culture team that support our National team of over 4,000 employees. You will also have a People and Culture Administrator providing support and reporting into you.

What we are seeking

Qualifications

  • Qualification in HR or related discipline 
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality and compliance of HR documentation and data entry related to recruitment, selection, induction, performance development, training and termination of staff. 
  • Manage the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures based on relevant legislation and contemporary HR management practices which provides an effective, consistent and timely delivery of HR services to the organisation
  • Provide an advisory service regarding HR management, workplace relations and policy and procedure matters to line management and staff
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of internal policies, guidelines, procedures and processes which prove effective, consistent and timely delivery of HR services
  • Provide advice and support in performance management issue including ensuring procedural fairness is maintained and attending the Industrial Commission as required
  • Supervise the People and Culture Administrator and their workload
  • Prepare HR reports as required
  • Promote awareness of company initiatives/events

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated experience and skills in a HR Advisory/Consultancy position and a sound knowledge of contemporary HR or ER/IR practices
  • Demonstrated ability to establish productive partnerships and working relationships to maximise business outcomes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with a proven ability to positively influence situations of conduct and behaviours of others through effective mediation, facilitation and negotiation
  • Must be team orientated demonstrating personal initiative and attention to detail and a high level or organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Proven ability to establish a successful customer service culture within the organisation, with a commitment to customers demonstrated through provision of timely, reliable and expert advice on matters within the area of responsibility
  • Manage the People and Culture Administrator, and their workload
  • Computer literate (MS Office 365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint) – Intermediate to Advanced.
  • Experience using MS Dynamics 365 ERP system (highly regarded but training will be provided if required).
  • Quality and compliance support relating to HR documentation and processes. 
  • Ability to work autonomously within a complex, fast paced and challenging environment
