HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

(Melbourne – Western Suburbs)

Base of $120,000 to $140,000

We are an established transport and logistics company with a reputation for reliable and efficient service delivery over the past 75 years. We have over 300 employees who provide services to some of Australia's largest FMCG companies with operations in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, & Wodonga. 

We are seeking a true HR generalist, with broad based experience, and clear Employment Law proficiency. You are comfortable in oscillating between transactional and strategic HR on a regular basis. You will have a history of learning that has been developed on the back of your successes AND things that could have gone better. 

Specialised HRM is relatively new to our business, and this is your opportunity to establish foundational principles that will live on into the future. Your distinct potential will find its home as you manage a small team responsible for Payroll & HR Administration. You will work with a collaborative and supportive management team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage team members to enhance their capabilities and foster a customer-centric mindset (Payroll and Human Resources)
• Monitor and develop overall Payroll, HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization
• Coach and educate management on Employment Law compliance requirements and provide Administrative Support as required
• Manage recruitment and selection processes by preparing job ads, job descriptions, organising interviews, screening candidates and managing on-boarding requirements 
• Develop, implement, and maintain human resource policies across the organisation, including training programs to educate and promote awareness of regulatory compliance
• Reporting and management of Human Resource metrics. Produce reports on key metrics, including headcount, absenteeism, and turnover
• Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital
• Pro-actively oversee the management and administration of Workcover Claims
• Ensure legal compliance across the human resource functions

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive role, 5+ years
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, or equivalent experience
• A proven understanding of Employment Law principles and practices
• Knowledge of HR Systems, Payroll, and Databases
• A strong team player with an innovative and progressive approach
• Demonstrated integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive matters
