Youth Empowered Towards Independence (YETI) is a not-for-profit youth service in Cairns, Far North Queensland. YETI provides drug and alcohol treatment, adolescent-focused family support, and practical assistance to young people struggling to connect positively with family, school, jobs and the community. YETI has a multidisciplinary team that embraces cultural and gender diversity and equality.
The Human Resources Officer role is part-time, three days per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate recruitment and selection processes
- Preparation of employment contracts, onboarding procedures and induction of new employees.
- Work with employees and managers through the employment cycle
- Provide support, advice, and coach managers in all employee relations activities.
- Support training and development processes and procedures
- Maintaining confidential personnel files
- Support payroll procedures
- Work with the Executive Management Team to implement or address additional or impromptu Human Resource requirements or advice.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Experience in a prior Human Resources role with broad knowledge.
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management is desirable.
- Knowledge and experience in strategic and operational Human Resources requirements.
- Strong administration and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Proven team-oriented approach to work, with demonstrated collaboration ability.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with various stakeholders with respect to confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion.
- Demonstrated drive and initiative, with a proactive approach to work and willingness to undertake tasks outside of core remit.
- High-level written and spoken communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 essential and experience with Tanda or similar is highly desirable.
REQUIREMENTS
- Eligibility for a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or exemption based on professional qualifications and registration.
- A current Qld driver’s license.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia legally, and proof of eligibility may be requested.
