Job Description - HVAC Field Service Supervisor

HVAC Field Service Supervisor

Step into a well-run team with capable technicians and long-standing clients who appreciate good work.

•  $65/hr + super and dual-cab Ford Ranger
•  No compulsory on-call | Around 80% hands-on
•  Real authority from day one - not a promise of progression later

Are you the technician others call when a fault gets difficult or a quote doesn’t look right?

This is a hands-on role for an experienced commercial Refrigeration Mechanic who already supports or leads other technicians. You’ll supervise seven techs, resolve difficult faults and quotes, and make day-to-day decisions around priorities, customers and service work.

The employer is an established commercial HVAC business with approximately 30 people, turnover just under $10 million and around 2,000 clients. Average staff tenure is about seven years and this vacancy follows the retirement of the previous supervisor after approximately 15 years.

The role
•  Technically support and supervise a capable, efficient team
•  Attend sites when faults or quotes aren’t straightforward
•  Check diagnoses, service quotations and repair-versus-replace decisions
•  Speak with clients, obtain approvals and keep work moving
•  Reprioritise work and handle day-to-day service issues
•  Work across Melbourne CBD and the southeast, with about one flexible office day in Oakleigh

Systems include packaged units, ducted splits, VRF/VRV, chillers, boilers, BMS, essential services, stair pressurisation and car-park CO monitoring.

What’s on offer
•  $65/hr plus super, with flexibility for exceptional proven supervisory capability
•  Ford Ranger dual-cab with service body, mobile phone and iPad
•  RDOs | Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
•  No compulsory on-call
•  Direct-to-site work with schedules generally planned two to four weeks ahead

What you’ll need
•  Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
•  Current refrigerant-handling accreditation and Restricted Electrical Licence
•  Strong commercial HVAC service and fault-finding experience
•  Previous supervisory or technical-leadership experience
•  Confidence preparing quotes and dealing with commercial clients
•  Current driver’s licence

You don’t need to be an expert across every chiller, boiler and BMS system. Strong fault-finding, judgement and the ability to guide other technicians matter most.

If you want genuine authority without giving up the tools, apply now or call Trudi Hedley at TMR Recruitment on 0424 379 006 for a confidential conversation.
