About the Team
Or federal government client is looking for someone to join their Enterprise and Governance Branch which provides services for the entire CIO Division including Financial and Business Management, Technical Delivery, Governance Risk and Assurance and Enterprise Architecture functions and supports ICT service delivery for Agency Staff and Partners.

The branch aim is to implement a sensible and comprehensive governance strategy to ensure the successful execution and delivery of technology projects and enhancements.

About the Role
The ICT Strategy Lead Writer is accountable under broad direction to undertake work with a high level of complexity or sensitivity that delivers quality outcomes across the ICT support service functions of the government agency.

The position will apply a significant understanding of the functions to provide high level of advice to senior management, Executive Leadership Team and the federal Board. It is responsible for influencing and developing strategy, policies, priorities and operational practices in support of the their objectives to “build a world leading Scheme”.

The ICT Strategy Lead Writer will exercise a significant degree of independence and will use a high level of decision-making and judgement. The role will be required to coordinate and assume responsibility for highly complex or sensitive projects and work program outcomes across the functions that have strategic or operational significance to the agency.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Conducting comprehensive analysis of the current IT landscape, focusing on technology, people, processes, and critical industry relationships, identifying areas for improvement and innovation.
• Monitoring and evaluating technology industry trends, including political, financial, and security considerations, ensuring the agency's IT strategy aligns with external pressures and opportunities.
• Consulting with internal and external experts, gathering diverse insights and expertise, ensuring a well-rounded and informed IT strategy.
• Developing and articulating the agency's IT strategy, presenting a medium to long-term view that leverages technology as a key delivery mechanism for strategic priorities.
• Facilitating strategic planning sessions with stakeholders, aligning IT initiatives with business objectives and user needs.
• Advocating for and implementing best practices in ICT governance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Providing thought leadership on the adoption of emerging technologies, assessing their potential impact and integration into the agency's ICT ecosystem.
