Job Description - ICT Support & Systems Administrator

Waverley Forklifts is an independently Australian owned business with head office located in Mount Waverley VIC.  Over the past fifty years, we have grown to be one of the largest fully independent forklift and transport companies in Australia, specializing in Forklift Rentals, Equipment Servicing, Equipment Sales and Machinery Transport.  Our branches are in Smithfield NSW, Yatala QLD, Cavan SA, Winnellie NT and Canning Vale WA.

We are currently seeking a tech-savvy, problem-solving ICT Support & Systems Administrator, to join our head office based team at Waverley Forklifts.

The Role:

The ICT Support & Systems Administrator provides assistance, support and general advice on Information Technology systems to the Waverley Forklifts team nationally. This role requires a hands-on helpdesk function for all staff and escalation of advanced IT requests to a Managed Services Provider where required. Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Help Desk Administration and Support:
    • Completes a proactive approach in all helpdesk activities to support the team 
    • Responds to help desk inquiries within required timeframes
    • Interacts with all internal and external clients on all levels to help resolve IT related issues and provide answers in a timely manner. Escalation of advanced IT requests to a Managed Services Provider where required.
    • Manage Mobile phone allocation, repair and replacement
    • Manage updates to the company’s telephone systems, including routing and number assignment
  • Onboarding & Offboarding
    • Set up new network and systems user accounts for new employees 
    • Install and configure computer hardware, phones, tablets, software and printers
    • Basic user device and systems overview training
    • Ensure return of all equipment from exiting staff and offboard appropriately
  • Systems Administration:
    • Oversee the administration and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure and escalation of advanced IT requests to a Managed Services Provider where required.
    • Repair or replace equipment as required, ensuring a reliable and efficient computing environment whilst minimising downtime
    • Assist in planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the current IT systems
  • Asset Management:
    • Ensuring the company IT assets are maintained responsibly
    • Assist in maintaining the asset register and reporting any concerns to Financial Controller
  • Project Management and Documentation:
    • Responds and acts on executive management team direction
    • Identifies and provides standards for gathering information for use in trend analysis and reports information to company management
    • Assist with the creation and maintenance of all IT related procedures and support documentation

The Right Person for the Role:

Recognising that this role could be the springboard for a long-term career with Waverley Forklifts, the successful candidate must be an individual with relevant experience and skills, who embraces challenges and responsibility with enthusiasm and energy.

Specifically, you display the following:

  • Tertiary qualification with strong previous experience and professional training in the following areas:
    • Help Desk Administration
    • Troubleshooting and management of Internal Systems
    • Compliant Asset Management of company hardware and software
    • Strong Networking acumen, and experience in particular with the administration and management of the company network, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Switches, Routers, Firewalls and Wireless Access Points.
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows / Microsoft Office platform and associated components.
  • Ability to multi-task, excellent time management skills and delivery of projects within expected timeframes
  • Naturally strong customer service attitude and experience with a friendly and professional telephone manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal with customers and staff at all levels.
  • The ability to plan, record and follow up, demonstrating competency and strength in organisation
  • Be able to work as part of the WFL team as well as autonomously where directed, you are a solution finder and display a ’can do’ attitude
