Job Description - Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer

IAM Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our identity and authentication systems at Probe (Okta, Google Workspace, etc.). IAM Engineer will play a key role in protecting Probe’s digital environment by designing and delivering secure, scalable authentication, authorisation, and identity lifecycle solutions. You’ll help deliver a secure yet seamless user experience.

Main Responsibilities:

● Experience with integrating enterprise applications into OKTA, groups, rules, and workflow.

● Experience with OKTA to manage users, groups, conditional access, SAML/SSO

● Working knowledge of OAuth, SAML, SCIM, JWT, and authentication/authorisation frameworks

● Design, implement, and maintain our identity and authentication systems

● Automate and orchestrate user lifecycles across our systems and services – from beginning to end (Experience with Workday integration is desirable)

● Build and maintain identity lifecycle workflows (OKTA)

● Support access governance processes including certifications and access reviews

● Work with HR and application teams on onboarding and access workflows

● Troubleshoot complex identity and access issues

● Manage and improve our auth policies, access controls, and build (or rebuild) a strong access management policy within our identity systems

● Respond to incidents as part of an on-call roster or in priority incidents

● Familiarity with cyber security principles, standards, and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems.

● Write documentation and maintain diagrams of your solutions and applications, ensuring readability and understanding

● Constantly learn, test, evaluate, and enhance our products and offerings

● Work with IT Operations and IT Engineering to help fill gaps and collaborate on other projects and services

● Administering and supporting Google Workspaces is highly desirable

● System engineer background is highly desirable

● Automation skills using PowerShell, Python, or any desirable scripting language are a plus

● Liaise with third-party vendors

● Ensure a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace for all employees and contractors, report workplace hazards, and provide a safe and positive workplace.

● Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute to overall team learnings ● Comply with and execute other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary by management

● Ensure you do not discriminate against, harass, or bully co-workers, prospective co-workers, Probe sub-contractors, visitors, clients, or customers, and ensure you treat people with fairness and respect in the performance of your duties.

● Ensure all Probe policies, including Business Management System and Security policies and procedures, are adhered to.

● Ensure Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to

Key Skills and Personality Traits:

● Experience with architecting and implementing/integrating applications with OKTA

● Excellent knowledge of OKTA workflows, SSO, MFA, Groups, Rules, etc.

● Have an analytical and structured approach to problem-solving

● Intermediate Systems engineer knowledge

● Basic networking skill

● Excellent communication skills

● Proven project coordination skills

● Ability to resolve problems professionally and systematically in highly stressful environments

● Ability to document solutions, systems and changes

● Ability to plan and prioritise own workload according to the business requirements

Qualifications and Typical Experience:

● 3-4+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management engineering

● Experience in a multi-vendor environment

● Vendor-related certification, such as OKTA, Microsoft, VMware, AWS, is highly regarded
