Independent Support Worker - Urgent Role

Mental Health Support Worker.

We are looking for Disability Support Workers who have experience in Mental health psycho-social clients.

Job Description:

We are looking for reliable honest support workers with a proven experience background in mental health to join our team. 

Your role will involve assisting participants with ongoing support to help them achieve their goals. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting participants to perform important daily activities.
• Facilitating assistance with personal care, fostering independence and self-care skills.
• Preparing home based tasks such as meal preparation and general housework.
• Community participation: encourage and facilitate community engagement and social activities to ensure client inclusion and interaction.
• Documentation: Accurately record participant progress notes, incidents and achievements.
• Mental Health Support: offer empathetic and understanding to support participants dealing with mental health challenges

Qualifications/Requirements:

• ABN
• Current NDIS Worker Screening
• First Aid Certificate
• Insurance - Public Liability & Professional Indemnity
• Driver's license and comprehensive car insurance 
• Relevant qualifications in disability support/mental health (preferred but not mandatory if previous experience).

Experience:

• Experience working with participants with mental illness (preferably six months).
• Ability to provide individualized support to participants with mental health disability.
• Demonstrated continuing professional development.
• Supporting participants in personal care, particularly hygiene practices.
