Information Security Manager

Victoria's western region council looking for Information Security Manager to be join their team and play a pivotal role in development and implementation of good practice governance and applications lifecycle support and management for the council.

Your new role

• Lead the development and implementation of information security governance and lifecycle management.
• Define and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with ISO 27001 and VPDSF.
• Oversee cyber security operations, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Manage external MSSP/SOC partners and ensure timely remediation of cyber threats.
• Serve as the primary contact for regulators and external agencies on security matters.
• Prepare reports for the Audit & Risk Committee and lead executive briefings on emerging threats.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• Good experience in ICT, security, and risk experience, with at least 3 years in a security management role.
• Strong knowledge of frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, COBIT, and ASD.
• Experience in ICT governance, risk management, and compliance (PCI, VPDSF).
• Technical expertise in ICT security measures, penetration testing, and security architecture.
• CISSP/CISM or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
