About the Role:

We are seeking an Infrastructure and Cloud Manager for a Permanent – Full time role based of out THQ Blackburn, VIC.

Purpose of the Role:

The Infrastructure & Cloud Manager is a senior technology leader responsible for shaping and executing the strategy for secure, resilient, and scalable cloud and infrastructure platforms at The Salvation Army. The role drives a modern, enterprise-wide technology ecosystem that enables organisational agility and supports mission-critical services delivering meaningful community impact. It ensures high-performing, reliable platforms through strong operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

With a focus on cloud maturity, cost optimisation, and service value, the role embeds robust security, integrity, and resilience across all services. Partnering with Architecture, Cyber Security, and business leaders, it delivers future-ready capabilities aligned to TSA’s mission. As a strategic people leader, it fosters a collaborative, high-performing team culture grounded in accountability, service excellence, and shared values.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:  

Strategic Leadership, Road-mapping & Transformation

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure and Cloud technology roadmaps aligned with TSA's strategic objectives.
• Provide thought leadership on cloud adoption, platform modernisation, automation, resilience, and infrastructure transformation.

Architecture, Security & Platform Lifecycle

• Partner with Domain Architects and Cyber Security teams to ensure technology solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Lead the lifecycle management of cloud platforms, hybrid infrastructure, virtualisation, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and enterprise hosting services.

Service Performance, Monitoring & Optimisation

• Ensure infrastructure services meet agreed availability, performance, security, and recovery objectives.
• Drive proactive monitoring, capacity management, and service optimisation across all infrastructure platforms.

Resilience, Risk & Continuous Improvement

• Establish and maintain operational resilience frameworks, disaster recovery capabilities, and business continuity readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve reliability, reduce operational risk, and enhance service delivery.

Automation, Simplification & Operational Excellence

• Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and modern operational practices to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Identify opportunities to simplify platforms, reduce technical debt, and improve operational maturity.

Vendor, Financial & People Leadership

• Manage strategic vendor relationships and service providers to ensure contractual compliance, service quality, innovation, and value for money.
• Contribute to budget planning, technology investment decisions, and lifecycle refresh strategies.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Infrastructure & Cloud team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and customer service excellence.

Education and Experience Required:

Education & Certifications

Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience), with relevant industry certifications desirable including Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, VMware VCP, ITIL 4 Foundation, and CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent (desirable).

Leadership & Experience

• 6-8+ years leading Infrastructure, Cloud, or Platform Engineering teams.
• Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-scale hybrid cloud environments.

Technical Expertise

Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms, Infrastructure as Code, enterprise virtualisation, identity and access platforms, backup and recovery technologies, monitoring and observability platforms, and cybersecurity and operational resilience practices.

Strategy & Transformation

• Experience developing technology roadmaps and driving infrastructure transformation initiatives.

Commercial & Stakeholder Management

• Strong commercial, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Requirements of the role:

  • A National Criminal History Check is required
