Infrastructure Cloud Architect

Lime Recruitment is currently working with a government department to recruit an Infrastructure Cloud Architect contract to 30/09/2024 plus 2 x 6 month extension options based at Carseldine CBD and working from home.

In this role you will:

• Define best-practice cloud architecture to underpin the ongoing operation of many discrete cloud-oriented delivery teams, where each team is representing a discrete business ‘domain context’.
• Guide establishment of broad (cross and outside) access and relevant controls to enable effective utilisation of Confluent Kafka by each domain context and by the partners (including Govt and trusted organisations).
• Design of controls to enforce and ensure appropriate information quality and security.
• Collaborate with other Architects, other teams (including existing the Cloud Business Office), and Stakeholders to ensure designs are aligned to Architectural and Stakeholder needs.
• Provide guidance to cross-functional teams on using and accessing services and data in the cloud.
• Solve technical issues as they arise.
• Serve as the cloud architecture Subject-Matter Expert (SME) for all the involved teams.

You will have:

• AWS Technical Architecture and current Cloud Service offerings
• Azure Technical Architecture and current Cloud Service offerings
• Confluent Kafka or equivalent cloud-agnostic streaming service
• Kubernetes and Terraform
• Enabling autonomous cloud delivery spaces for independent delivery teams (including experience with options such as multi-account operation, name-spacing and other approaches to ensure practical balance of autonomy and consistency and required controls for the involved delivery teams).
• Iterative, not ‘big-bang’ realisation of designed target cloud architecture
  (including fast enablement of initial delivery spaces that are extensible and easily upgraded as target-state features are progressively introduced and ongoing as various features are improved or upgraded)
