Job Description - Injury management specialist

The Situation:

Stellar is currently looking for an experienced Health & Injury Management specialist to join our client in the Regional NSW. Reporting to the Health Safety & Training Manager this role is pivotal in providing best practice guidance and assistance in injury management, return to work, early intervention, health education, hygiene monitoring, and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.

Your Typical Day:
  • Maintain a safe workplace by following safety systems and adhering to HSEC Policies and Procedures.
  • Report incidents and hazards timely and accurately.
  • Develop and maintain Health & Safety Standards to meet HSEC Management Plan requirements.
  • Submit necessary health and safety reports.
  • Assist with hazard identification and monitoring in the workplace.
  • Conduct site inspections and routine audits for compliance.
  • Communicate health and safety standards, rules, and procedures to the workforce.
  • Implement action plans for risk treatment.
  • Participate in health and safety audits and safety interactions.
  • Coordinate health and wellbeing programs, including educational initiatives and monitoring service providers.
About You:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Allied Health Profession (i.e., Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy) and associated registration with governing body (i.e., APHRA, ESSA).
  • 2 or more years in an injury management or related health support role.
  • Return to Work Coordinator Accreditation in accordance with SIRA requirements
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing Accreditation.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, particularly in the MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, cooperative, and facilitation skills for interfacing with various levels of management and external bodies and agencies.
  • Ability to manage and build positive relationships.
