THE ROLE

At Kyabra, the Intake and Assessment team is responsible for providing an initial point of contact in relation to community members who present to the organisation for assistance.

The Intake and Assessment Worker will assist with this, particularly in relation to child safety-specific enquires around foster and kinship care (FKC). • Providing initial support and advocacy to community members who present with, and are experiencing, complex issues.

  • The provision of relevant information and appropriate referral pathways (either internally or externally), including brief intervention work if/when required.

The focus of this position is to facilitate out-of-home placements (i.e. matching children/young people with Kyabra’s foster carers). This position will also undertake initial phone-based intake and assessment, as well as some centre-based and outreach functions in relation to FKC and general enquiries. This role is based at Kyabra’s Runcorn office but will be expected to also work out of our Richlands location as per a roster.
