Robert Half has partnered with a leading Australian organisation within the industrial / food production / supply chain sector that is seeking a UKG Integration Engineer with a strong SAP Payroll focus to play a key role in the successful delivery of a major enterprise transformation program.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced UKG Integration Engineer to take ownership of key integration activities across a large-scale UKG program, with a particular focus on integrations between SAP Payroll and UKG. This role will be central to ensuring the seamless flow of workforce and payroll data across critical enterprise platforms, supporting the successful rollout of a business-critical solution within a complex national environment.
Working as part of a wider transformation program, you will collaborate closely with business analysts, functional consultants, technical teams, vendors, and broader stakeholders to design, build, and support integrations across the solution landscape. This is a high-impact technical role suited to someone who understands enterprise payroll systems, values data integrity, and can deliver scalable and reliable integration outcomes aligned to business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and support integrations between SAP Payroll and UKG across the broader program landscape
Work closely with business analysts, functional consultants, technical teams, and vendors to define integration requirements and solution designs
Ensure the seamless and accurate movement of payroll, workforce management, and employee data between systems
Develop and maintain integration specifications, mapping documents, and technical design artefacts
Support data validation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution across key integration points
Collaborate with testing teams to ensure integrations are thoroughly validated through SIT, UAT, and end-to-end testing phases
Monitor and maintain integration performance, reliability, and data quality standards
Identify and manage integration risks, dependencies, and technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle
Support cutover and go-live activities to ensure integration readiness and business continuity
Contribute to best practice integration standards, documentation, and long-term supportability of the solution
About You
You are a technically strong and solutions-focused Integration Engineer with experience working across enterprise platforms and complex payroll system landscapes. You are comfortable engaging with both functional and technical stakeholders and understand the importance of building integrations that are accurate, scalable, and fit for purpose.
Proven experience working in an Integration Engineer or similar technical integration role within enterprise environments
Strong experience integrating SAP Payroll with downstream or third-party platforms, ideally within HRIS, workforce management, or payroll ecosystems
Exposure to UKG integrations or similar workforce management platforms will be highly regarded
Strong understanding of data mapping, interface design, system integration patterns, and troubleshooting complex data flows
Experience working across payroll and workforce-related data structures, with a clear appreciation for data accuracy and compliance
Ability to work closely with both technical and functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical integration solutions
Experience supporting integration testing, defect resolution, and production readiness activities
Strong documentation skills across interface specifications, technical designs, and support artefacts
Ability to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced program environment with multiple workstreams and stakeholders
Previous experience in large, multi-site, industrial, manufacturing, or enterprise businesses will be highly regarded
