Role Overview
The Intermediate Accountant will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to our clients. This position involves preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Australian accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
Responsibilities & Expectations
Processing annual financial statements for companies and trusts.
Preparing income tax returns and Business Activity Statements.
Assisting with payroll services.
Contributing to Tax Planning Figures and Analysis.
Handling ATO client correspondence and queries.
Staying updated on tax law changes and anticipating new ones through tax research.
Collaborating with team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial reports.
Continuously improving accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Participating in professional development activities to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
What Were Looking For
2-4 years of experience in Australian public accounting, with a focus on tax preparation and financial statement preparation.
Proficiency in accounting software Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail and organisational skills.
Desire to grow an existing client base.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
