The Role

• Lead the internal audit function, developing and delivering a risk-based audit plan aligned to business priorities.
• Conduct and oversee operational, financial, and compliance audits across a diverse retail environment.
• Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management frameworks, and governance processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with senior leaders across finance, operations, supply chain, and corporate functions to provide practical, commercially relevant recommendations.
• Prepare clear and insightful audit reports, presenting findings and action plans to leadership in a constructive and engaging way.
• Monitor audit outcomes and follow up on agreed actions to ensure timely implementation and sustainable control improvements.
• Support the business in identifying emerging risks, process inefficiencies, and areas for stronger control and compliance.
• Mentor and develop team members where applicable, while helping to foster a proactive and solutions-focused audit culture.
• Contribute to special reviews, investigations, and ad hoc risk projects as the business continues to grow and evolve.

About You

• You are an experienced internal audit professional with a proven track record in leading end-to-end audit programs.
• You bring strong knowledge of risk management, internal controls, governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience within retail, consumer, FMCG, or another fast-moving multi-site environment will be highly regarded.
• You are commercially minded and able to balance assurance responsibilities with practical, business-friendly recommendations.
• You have excellent stakeholder management skills and can build credibility across both operational and executive teams.
• You are a confident communicator with the ability to present findings clearly, influence outcomes, and drive accountability.
• You are detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
• Relevant qualifications such as CA, CPA, CIA, or similar will be viewed favourably.
• Most importantly, you are someone who enjoys improving processes, strengthening controls, and adding real value to the business.
