Our client
Our client operates equipment in approximately 550 locations across Australia & New Zealand and have over 300 customers. They locally move approximately 130 movements a month domestically, which includes mostly Original Equipment and parts.
In addition, they have approximately 3-4 Original Equipment arrive by sea freight or air freight in country every week, supporting our Program and Run Rate business.
These shipments then need to be organised and on-forwarded to installation locations, often many thousands of kilometres away from the port of arrival.
You will be responsible for :
- Create supply chain strategies that increase efficiency and speed of parts replenishment.
- Collaborate with other departments to close operational gaps.
- Optimise warehouse functions.
- Plans manages and coordinates all activities related to Logistics & warehousing functions for AU & NZ
- Ensure appropriate inventory levels, warehousing procedures and compliance with those procedures at Stock On Site (SOS) locations.
- Provide hands on support at SOS locations to ensure effective coordination and movement of goods.
- Arrange couriers for freighting of goods and/or provide direct support to ensure parts are sent to sites as required.
- Help to hold external warehousing vendors accountable for service levels, directly with the vendor or by reporting issues to the local management team.
- Partner with 3rd party labour hire and internal personnel to execute improvements of warehousing practices on the ground.
- Plan inventory levels and parts movements
- Review open orders and back orders to support part movements and replenishments.
- Support domestic shipping arrangements for original equipment, spare parts and consumables followup vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Carry out service administration, Order to Invoice and Programs admin tasks from time to time.
Skills and Qualifications - 5+ years in a similar role
- Strong organisational skills, ability to multitask and manage time
- Previous stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field advantageous
- Relevant industry specific accreditations
Essential Requirements - Intimate and highly detailed knowledge of the Australian & New Zealand geography, including domestic freight lanes.
- High level of initiative & desire to succeed. Selfstarter and highly motivated.
- Act with minimum supervision.
- High level of customer/stakeholder focus.
- Fast learner
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Ability to travel.
