IT Helpdesk Officer

Suncoast Christian College is established as a ministry of Suncoast Christian Church, a member of International Network of Churches Australia. Situated on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, this well-established Pre-prep to Year 12 co-educational, Christian College of over 1000 students.

The College has an exciting opportunity available for an IT Support Helpdesk Officer. Being the first line of support for both students and teachers, you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to build relationships with ease.  

While previous experience in IT support is ideal, we are open to training someone who demonstrates the right attitude and aptitude for the role. The role would suit a variety of candidates: an experienced helpdesk agent, a recent graduate, an administration “whiz” or someone looking for an entry level IT role.

The IT Helpdesk Support Officer will help run the College help-desk function of the ICT department - providing amazing customer service and expertise to all stakeholders (teachers, students and at times, parents). This is an on-site / in-office role (unfortunately no work from home is available in this position).

• You have a high-level of tech expertise (including installation and troubleshooting) or an aptitude and willingness to learn,
• You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills,   
• You are a problem-solver and can think quickly on your feet,
• You are easy to relate to and able to build rapport with ease.

Skills, responsibilities and duties will include:  

• Manning the College Helpdesk and providing support to staff, students and parents via phone, email or face-to-face, 
• Perform installation, maintenance and upgrading of ICT platforms and infrastructure throughout the College,   
• Liaise with third-party vendors regarding device repairs and hardware/software support, 
• Assist College staff and students with device and software set up/troubleshooting, 
• Provide technical support and audiovisual support in lecture rooms, classrooms etc,
• Document, track and resolve support tickets,
• Support the use of O365, MS Teams, OneDrive and more.
