Job Description - IT Operations Support Specialist

Role Purpose & Objective:


In this role, you will provide Level 1 and Level 2 support across all internal operational systems and infrastructure (excluding product-related technologies). You will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations while actively supporting corporate security initiatives across the business.


This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting end users, and taking ownership of operational outcomes.


How you will add value:



  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 Helpdesk support to staff across multiple sites, in line with service standards


  • Support users via Slack, email, remote access tools, in-person assistance, and the hipages ticketing system




  • Log, prioritise, track, and resolve support requests, escalating issues where required




  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across desktops, laptops, and mobile devices




  • Assist with IT operations tasks including system upgrades, patch management, and software installations




  • Set up and configure new laptops, desktops, mobile phones, and desk phones




  • Maintain user access controls and permissions in line with security requirements




  • Establish and maintain users within hipages’ Identity Providers (IdPs)




  • Monitor network traffic and system logs to detect and respond to security incidents




  • Review security assessment reports and remediate identified vulnerabilities




  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and remote users, as well as senior management




About you:




  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field




  • Experience providing IT operations support within SME-sized organisations




  • Understanding of ITIL fundamentals




  • Strong knowledge of IT systems and networking concepts, including cabling, IP addressing, and troubleshooting




  • Experience managing online meetings and meeting room technology (Zoom preferred)




  • Excellent working knowledge of Google Workspace applications




  • Understanding of IT security principles, including user access management




  • Experience with log analysis is highly regarded
