Job Description - IT Support Officer

Empire Office Furniture is Queensland's leading office furniture retailer servicing many high profile corporate organisations, government departments, local and regional business customers. This Queensland owned and operated company has a great reputation to successfully provide quality workstations, seating and furniture for 40 years. We operate nine retail showrooms across Queensland and Sydney with our support office and distribution Centre based in South Brisbane.

The Role:

We are currently seeking a tech-savvy, problem-solving IT Support & Systems Administrator, to join our head office-based team at Rocklea in Brisbane. 

You will be working with the Senior Systems Administrator and reporting to the IT Manager. You'll be the first point of contact for all IT-related inquiries across our 9 sites. You'll play a key role in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT systems, providing exceptional customer service while troubleshooting and resolving technical problems efficiently.

The Empire Office Furniture business has many moving parts, so the ability to multitask and prioritise support would be essential.

 

The Team and Structure

Empire has close to 200 employees across the 9 locations. The IT team is a team of five with cross functional support from other departments.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing best-in-class, white-glove support to our end users by managing inbound support calls and emails to ensure they have a great user experience.

• Day-to-day service desk operations

• Onboarding and offboarding user accounts

• Managing company assets

• Creating and updating training material and documentation.

• Providing hardware support, hands-on testing of desktops, infrastructure and services across multiple technology streams including hardware, software, networks, server, print, mobile devices and peripherals 

 

What we are looking for from you:

• 1+ years of experience in a similar role

• Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and exposure to Windows Server, 

• Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 application stack including Microsoft Azure and user administration.

• Exposure to Remote Desktop Services and/or Azure Virtual Desktop

• Basic understanding of TCP / IP networking

• Exposure to PowerShell & scripting

• The ability to plan, organise and adapt to changing priorities

• Strong analytical and logical troubleshooting skills

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Familiarity with Point-of-Sale software (POS) is advantageous
