Position Overview: 

The IT technician will install and maintain computer systems, networks and servers aiming for the highest functionality. The IT technician will also ensure efficient use of applications and equipment. The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient servers, computer systems and networks.  To roll out Cyber Security best practises and Cloud Solutions to clients. 

Objectives of this role 

Support requests: Maintaining IT systems so employees can work effectively and efficiently.  Provide computer and technical support to employees and clients. 

Technical specialist: Provide IT recommendations for clients and businesses. 

Network Admin: Run site maintenance tasks and proactive maintenance for clients and businesses. 

Project work: Design, setup and install new computer systems, cloud services, servers and network equipment. 

Protect Clients: implement and improve cyber security practices at various levels. 

Responsibilities of this role 

Cloud system Planning, designing, developing, configuring and commissioning networks and cloud systems. Mostly Microsoft 365 products. 

Monitoring the overall performance of systems to assess the need for updates, upgrades, enhancements, preventive maintenance and new systems.  

Recommending options for upgrading and improving the performance of networks and systems. 

Manage domains, DNS and customer email setup. 

Providing troubleshooting and service support in diagnosing, resolving and correcting problems. 

Developing and documenting strategies, policies and procedures relating to the use of IT technologies and services.  Determining software and hardware requirements to provide solutions to problems. 

Assessing the performance of IT technologies and services, identifying limitations and inefficiencies, and recommending and implementing solutions. 

Providing troubleshooting and service support in diagnosing, resolving and correcting problems associated with the use of IT technologies and service. 

Ensuring efficient use of applications and equipment. 

Repairing and replacing peripheral equipment such as computers, printers and routers. 

Providing information relating to cyber security and services that need added technical knowledge. 

Assisting with proposals when expert technical knowledge is required.
