About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Joinery Estimator to play a critical role in securing profitable, well-managed projects.
You will be trusted to take ownership of your tenders, working independently while collaborating closely with production, suppliers and leadership to ensure commercially sound and accurate pricing.

Key Responsibilities
· Reviewing and analysing scopes, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements
· Accurately measure and price materials and labour from project documentation
· Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates
· Prepare and review cost estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness
· Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing
· Prepare and submit detailed quotes for projects
· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project handovers and budget understanding
· Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, new materials and hardware
· Develop and maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships to ensure competitive pricing
· Work closely with Production Teams to ensure high-quality project outcomes
· Identify potential cost risks and provide value-engineering solutions
· Promote and enhance the interests, welfare, business growth and reputation of the Company
· Ensure quality and customer satisfaction is consistently improved
· Display teamwork, strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
· Maintain and improve efficiency and skill development
· Represent the business in a professional manner
· Consider lean manufacturing principles when formulating tenders
· Update BWJ pipeline documents daily to reflect current tenders and forecasts
· Train Junior Estimators when required
· Work both independently and collaboratively at a high standard
· Align behaviour to BWJ values and company culture
Where required, the role may also support joinery project coordination across commercial and residential sectors, including:
· Liaising with architects, designers, builders and subcontractors
· Coordinating across design, production and installation teams
· Reviewing CAD drawings and resolving technical challenges
· Tracking budgets, schedules and project milestones
· Overseeing cost control and strategic procurement
· Ensuring compliance with Australian OHS and joinery standards (AS/NZS 2683)
· Acting as a key contact for clients and building professionals
· Conducting site visits and resolving issues proactively
· Overseeing risk management and QA throughout the project lifecycle
About You
· Qualification in Building & Construction, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or relevant trade background preferred. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
· Proven experience in joinery, cabinetry, commercial fitouts or similar industries
· Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
· High level of numerical accuracy and strong commercial awareness
· Strong awareness of Workplace Health & Safety requirements and ability to incorporate compliance into project costings
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify cost risks
· Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
· Well organised, structured and able to manage multiple tenders to deadlines
