Junior Graphic Designer - with Growth Opportunities

The Australian Medical Association Queensland is the state's peak medical representative body and represents doctors and medical students. Nationally, the Australian Medical Association represents residents and registrars, public and private specialists, and general practitioners.

Position overview

The Junior Graphic Designer will be responsible to produce graphic artwork across various media for AMA Queensland and its clients. They will understand graphic design principles, tools, and techniques. This role will ensure all artwork is developed in accordance with the brand standards under the guidance of the communications and marking team. 

The core functions of this role are:

• Production of AMA Queensland artwork including membership and event campaigns, via the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Develop and design assets for print/digital materials including (but not limited to) EDMs, publications, flyers, banners, signage, website and social media posts.
• Create animated assets.
• Experience in final art production, pre-press processes, large format printing, and multi-page document design.
• Image management and retouching.
• Liaise with internal staff, and the communication and marketing team to develop their design brief, and bring campaigns to life.
• Ensure brand consistency in all designs by adhering to brand guidelines and standards of AMA Queensland and its clients.
• Work closely with the communication and marketing team to maintain a cohesive visual identity across all assets.
• Manage and maintain graphic and campaign files, including photos, logos, and artwork for easy access by communication and marketing team.
• Website content development and maintenance.  
• Liaise with external suppliers ensuring positive outcomes.

Experience / Skills Required

• Graphic design qualifications or equivalent.
• 1-2 years' experience in a Junior Graphic Design role.
• Demonstrated skill and advanced knowledge  Adobe Creative Suit (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Experience in Adobe Premier Pro video editing is an advantage.
• Experience in EDMs using Mailchimp.
• An understanding of website content management systems is desirable.
• Excellent eye for detail and personal high standard of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
• An understanding of print and web design principles.
• Knowledge of prepress and print across all marketing channels.
• Proactive and innovative with sound problem-solving skills.
• The ability to operate autonomously and within a team environment.
