Junior Product Developer - Ready to Wear

As one of Australia's leading and most respected fashion designer brands, we are excited to share that ZIMMERMANN has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Product Developer to join our renowned Design team, located in Sydney.  

This is a junior creative and technical development position in our Ready to Wear team focuses on product development for three seasonal annual collections. This role is responsible for supporting the on-time execution of each season from sampling through to complete handover to production.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Creatively source and develop seasonal fabrics and trims under the direction of the Senior Design Directors and Design Development Manager for the Zimmermann Range product line.
• Contribute to seasonal Fabric and Trim meetings based on seasonal supplier submissions that are new and relevant.
• Ordering and tracking delivery of all Range SMS raw materials in line with Critical Path key dates.
• To manage the raw material set-up, style creation and maintenance in PLM for all Range apparel.
• To provide accurate and thorough BOMs at SMS and PPS stages for handover to production.
• Overseeing seasonal component library for handover to Production.
• Successfully completing all responsibilities in a way that is committed to excellent quality standards at every level.

The successful candidate will possess a personal style, creative instincts and strong design skills that can be expressed through hand illustrations and computer aided design.

Desired skills and expertise: 

• Ideally have completed a degree or tertiary course in Fashion and previous experience working in a similar environment
• Have a good knowledge of fabrics & trims and a keen interest in fashion.
• Be able to combine both creative and technical skills.
• Able to work under pressureto tight deadlines.
• Be exceptionally well organized and methodical.
• Computer skilled, particularly in Microsoft Office, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Any experience in PLM or a similar program.
