Kitchen Assistant - Casual Cairns Convention Centre

About the role
To service the catering needs of guests of the Cairns Convention Centre through assisting chefs in the preparation, production and service of food in public outlets.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Preparation and production of food products.
• Finishing of food products on service lines.
• Assist with stewarding duties.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
• Service of food in public serveries.
• Removal of rubbish.
• Implement procedures of the CCC Food Safety Program (FSP).

The world class Cairns Convention Centre is everything you would expect from an international purpose-built venue located amidst natures pristine playground.

The Cairns Convention Centre has an auditorium with seats for 2,300 delegates, an arena with 5,000 seats, additional plenary that can fit 410 delegates theatre style, 23 meeting rooms for breakouts, beautiful ballroom for 500 dinner guests, outdoor plaza, spacious lobby for pre-dinner functions and a stunning terrace with views over Trinity Inlet.

Qualifications Required

• Knowledge of different food products.
• Working knowledge of commercial dishwashers.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
