We now have a great opportunity for a Laboratory Maintenance Coordinator to join our Supply Chain team based at Geelong.

This position is integral to ensuring equipment calibration and its maintenance to provide product quality across hydrocarbon samples (from LPG to Bitumen).

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will work within a fast-paced and dedicated laboratory team to coordinate and carry out investigative testing and troubleshooting.  You will coordinate the provision of Instrument maintenance and calibration for the laboratory as well as Facilities (building) maintenance, overseeing onsite third-party contractors operating within the Laboratory for building and instrument maintenance. 

Key to your role is driving the identification and implementation of laboratory initiatives and providing support for the laboratory testing regime.  You will also assist with instrument repairs in the laboratory.

This is a permanent, salaried position operating Monday to Friday and based at our Geelong Refinery.

About you

• You are tertiary qualified (minimum Bachelor of Science) with demonstrated practical experience in an oil or chemical industry laboratory.
• Ideally certified as an Authorised Gas Safety Tester (AGST).
• Holding superior knowledge of test methods and laboratory procedures preparation.
• Sound knowledge of hydrocarbon chemistry, with the ability to understand VIVA’s product range and refinery streams.
• Sound analytical skills including problem solving and decision making.
• Strong communication skills.
• Relevant computer skills.
