The Major Projects and Construction ( MPC ) team is involved in many of the largest and most significant procurement, construction safety and infrastructure projects in the country. They act as trusted advisors to government and the private sector and are relied upon by their clients as the "go to" projects practice when the stakes are high. Gain experience working alongside leaders in the industry, while acting for a wide range of clients across the defence, social infrastructure and construction sectors. The role Working closely with our highly regarded Partner Jo Teagle we have an exciting contract opportunity for a driven and ambitious Lawyer to join our Melbourne MPC team. This role will see you enjoy a steady flow of work on a wide variety matters with a particular focus on projects and construction / services contracting related safety contract drafting and advice. You will work for a broad range of government and private sector clients. Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will have: A background in infrastructure project delivery and / or front-end construction law Experience working on matters involving both procurement / contracting and work health and safety clause / advice drafting Commonwealth or State government projects experience is desirable, including disposal of assets / projects with significant safety issues Strong academic ability The ability to provide timely, accurate and commercially astute advice A strong sense of purpose, ambition and a proactive approach to your work A desire to work within a dynamic, supportive and fast-paced team environment The Major Projects and Construction team We advise the full spectrum of participants, from owners, developers and project sponsors to Federal, State and Local Government agencies, financiers, project managers, consultants and contractors.
