Lawyer, Construction (Front & Back - End)

A leading national firm is seeking a front\-end projects and procurement lawyer (4+ PQE) to join its well\-established Sydney\-based projects practice. The role sits within a collaborative, technically strong team advising on some of the most significant and strategically complex infrastructure and development projects in Australia.

You will work closely with partners and clients across the full lifecycle of major projects, providing procurement and contractual advice across a broad range of delivery models and contract structures. Matters span public and private sector projects and involve sophisticated risk allocation, contract negotiation, and project structuring advice.

Work includes:

• Advising on procurement strategies and project delivery models

• Drafting and negotiating complex construction and infrastructure contracts

• Working across PPPs, D&C arrangements, alliance\-style contracts, services agreements, and bespoke industry contracts

• Supporting major infrastructure, transport, energy, and development projects

• Mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team leadership

Ideal background:

• 4+ years PAE in construction, projects, or procurement

• Experience advising on front\-end/project documentation

• Strong drafting and client\-facing skills

• Collaborative mindset with an interest in mentoring and team development

Role 2:       A respected construction and infrastructure practice is also seeking a junior to mid\-level lawyer (2+ PQE) to support a growing pipeline of front\-end advisory and back\-end disputes work. The role offers exposure to Supreme Court proceedings, security of payment matters, and alternative dispute resolution, alongside advisory work on live projects.

You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers on high\-quality matters for government, developer, and contractor clients, gaining hands\-on experience across litigation, contract drafting, and project advisory work.

Role 3:         A specialist disputes practice is seeking a lawyer with 3+ PQE to join its Sydney\-based strata and construction team. The role involves advising on strata disputes, building defects, remedial works, and construction\-related litigation, with exposure to both front\-end contract work and back\-end disputes.

You will assist on matters involving tribunal and court proceedings, statutory regimes governing construction and building compliance, and advisory work for owners corporations and industry stakeholders. The role provides a strong platform for developing technical expertise in strata and construction law within a niche practice area.
