The Opportunity

A well\-regarded insurance practice is seeking a Solicitor or Associate (2\-4 PQE) to join its Sydney\-based team, working across a diverse portfolio of insurance litigation matters with a strong emphasis on professional indemnity. The role offers hands\-on exposure to conveyancing\-related PI claims and cyber risk matters, alongside broader financial lines work.

You will be involved in advising insurers and insureds on complex liability issues across professional indemnity, directors’ and officers’ insurance, management liability, and related statutory and property\-based claims. Matters often intersect with construction and property risks, providing a varied and technically engaging workflow.

The team operates in a collaborative, specialist\-led environment where junior lawyers are trusted with responsibility and encouraged to develop commercial judgment. Senior practitioners are actively invested in mentoring, skill development and long\-term career progression, offering clear pathways for growth within the practice.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing an end\-to\-end file load across professional indemnity and financial lines matters

• Advising on coverage, liability and quantum issues

• Working closely with insurer clients to deliver practical, commercially sound outcomes

• Collaborating with experienced practitioners on technically complex disputes

• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

About You

• 2–4 years’ experience in defendant insurance litigation, with a focus on professional indemnity

• Confident running matters with increasing autonomy

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• A solutions\-focused mindset and a genuine interest in client outcomes

• A team\-oriented approach with an appreciation for collaborative practice
