Lawyer/Associate, Employment

A well-established specialist practice is looking to add an Employment Lawyer to its Brisbane team.

This is a genuinely hands-on role with strong exposure to both advisory and disputes work, offering direct client engagement and the opportunity to build depth across a broad mix of workplace relations matters.

You will work closely with experienced practitioners while also having the autonomy to run matters and develop your own client relationships.

The Opportunity

This role sits within a busy employment and workplace relations practice supporting a diverse client base. The work is varied, practical and commercially focused, with a steady pipeline of matters across both contentious and non-contentious areas.

The Work

You will be involved in:

• Advising on workplace relations and employment law issues
  


• Managing disputes including unfair dismissal and general protections claims
  


• Supporting and conducting workplace investigations
  


• Handling discrimination, harassment and disciplinary matters
  


• Advising on compliance, regulatory obligations and risk
  


• Assisting with wage compliance and underpayment matters
  

The role combines drafting, strategy, advisory and client management responsibilities.

About You

• 2–4 years’ PQE with a focus on employment/workplace relations
  


• Strong understanding of Australian employment law frameworks
  


• Solid drafting and analytical skills
  


• Commercial, pragmatic approach to legal advice
  


• Confident communicator with the ability to engage directly with clients
  


• Able to manage matters with increasing independence
