Lead Data Analyst

Exciting Contract Opportunity for a Lead Data Analyst in Newcastle, NSW! Your new company
An experienced Lead Data Analyst is required to join an established organisation on a day-rate contract to provide leadership and continuity during a period of parental leave. This role will commence in February/March, allowing for a structured handover, with the contract running for 12-15 months.This role will play a key part in maintaining delivery momentum across an evolving data function, with a strong focus on data strategy execution, governance, platform uplift and self-service analytics.
Your new role
You will lead a small team of experienced and junior Data Analysts and work in close collaboration with data engineers and the broader business to deliver analytics outcomes. The role carries accountability for improving data maturity across the organisation, enabling business users through increased access to reporting, and embedding strong governance and delivery practices. This position is suited to an established data leader who can operate autonomously and provide immediate impact and guidance to the team.
What you'll need to succeed

• Demonstrated experience leading or managing data and analytics teams
• Strong background in analytics delivery, reporting and data governance
• Proven experience with the Microsoft data stack, including Power BI
• Exposure to enterprise systems and reporting platforms (TechnologyOne will be highly regarded)
• Ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams, supporting delivery and business adoption
