Job Description - Lead Experience Designer



Thoughtworks is a pioneer in integrating experience design with agile software delivery. Job responsibilities




  • You will lead the design of technology projects that transform customer experience while developing new digital products and services.

  • Design vision and strategic leadership, leading cross-functional teams to create a wide range of experience design deliverables including journey maps, service blueprints, roadmaps, prototypes and design systems.

  • Facilitate workshops and create unique design strategies, driving strategic decision-making at the portfolio level.

  • You will develop research plans and apply various business and customer metrics to measure customer and business value across the end-to-end customer journey.

  • Identify and develop customer hypotheses in collaboration with both Thoughtworkers and our clients to run product experiments and customer tests.

  • Balance client stakeholder and product team expectations by clearly communicating business outcomes and customer value.

  • Mentor and coach teammates, sharing expertise in design methods, tools and best practices.

  • Represent the company Thoughtworks at webinars and industry events, advocating for the value of experience design.



Job qualifications



Technical Skills




  • Proficient in product strategy and experience design with capabilities across user research, service design, digital product design, interface design and product strategy. 

  • From discovery to delivery and ongoing product roadmaps, you are comfortable leading the vision and strategy for digital products and services.

  • You’re comfortable leading and discovery and delivery activities, and developing product strategy for digital products and services. 

  • You collaborate with business stakeholders in product, sales and marketing to define business outcomes, employing different methods and metrics to communicate customer and business value.

  • You have advanced communication skills. From product vision to customer journey articulation, you're an experienced storyteller able to clearly present your customer insights, methods, metrics and findings to your stakeholders.



Professional Skills




  • Able to demonstrate executive influence and have impact beyond your immediate product team. Can connect business outcomes to customer value and present clear metrics on product performance.

  • Clear and effective communicator, capable of defining roles, setting expectations and fostering confidence within your design team.

  • A visionary approach to product design, with a passion for facilitating workshops and leading creative co-design and planning sessions.

  • Skilled at managing client relationships, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and building trust throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Committed to nurturing design talent, helping others grow their skills and capabilities.

  • Enthusiastic about contributing to the broader design community through peer reviews, team collaboration and thought leadership.
