Purpose: The primary purpose of the role is to deliver Architecture and Designs to meet the business requirements.
The Lead Infrastructure Architect will also critically review and approve designs from other Solutions Architects, ensuring designs meet the business strategy and the overall enterprise infrastructure strategy.
The team also contributes to the management & optimization of the portfolio of infrastructure for each business unit, driving operational improvement & cost efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Write and review Infrastructure Architecture Designs
- Deliver infrastructure designs for new IT services, exploiting current infrastructure technologies:
- migrating applications to IaaS / PaaS platforms on internal and external cloud.
- driving a greater utilization of virtualization & lower-cost storage
- migrating away from non-strategic technology platforms
The role focuses on both Architecture:
- Determine business requirements and influence solutions towards Infrastructure future state model
- Gauge strategic impact on business function impacted upstream and downstream services and subsequent technology footprint
- Examine potential demise opportunities and propose deployment options
- Consider service placement requirements in line with strategy
And Design:
- Delivering end-to-end technical infrastructure designs, ensuring Non-Functional Requirements are realized
- Verify impact to adjacent services/systems and Validate deployment and support model
- Qualify technical acceptance of all components
- Review design and gain approval via architecture governance
- Optimize commercial implications
The Lead Infrastructure Architect will also be expected to play a key role in the evolution and development of the Architecture Practice, including governance, training, and tooling.
Essential skills/experience:
- Infrastructure Architect,
- A system engineering background,
- Technical thought leadership in the evaluation of new technologies to meet business requirements,
- Influence key stakeholders leading to the adoption of solutions in line with the strategy,
- Business proficiency in English,
- Ability to work in a dynamic and cross-country environment.
