Lead Test Engineer I Data Engineering

The opportunity to join our team

We’re looking for a Lead Test Engineer who’s ready to take charge of testing across UDP and the key platforms that keep Data Engineering running. You’ll be right in the middle of the action, making sure our data solutions are accurate, reliable and production-ready, while helping to push our automation and testing practices forward. You'll have the chance to influence how quality engineering is approached across a modern cloud-based data environment, helping shape testing strategy, automation frameworks and engineering standards that support critical business outcomes.

You will work with modern technologies and be joining a team that values collaboration, continuous improvement and technical innovation. Working closely with Data Engineers and technical leaders, you’ll lead how we design, build and embed automated testing across our data platforms -  keeping our pipelines tight, our data clean, and our CI/CD flow running.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks


• Validate data accuracy, consistency and completeness across multiple projects running on Google Cloud (GCP)


• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines in partnership with Data Engineers


• Identify and track defects, supporting resolution with development teams


• Shape testing approaches in both agile and traditional environments


• Champion continuous improvement and innovative automation across data testing

What you will bring:

• Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks


• Knowledge of data testing tools (e.g. python, pytest, panda etc) and strong SQL ability


• Solid understanding of testing in data-centric environments (DataVault a plus)


• Strong communication skills and ability to work across teams


• Familiarity with Jira and CI/CD practices


• Ability to triage and diagnose issues in live feature development
