Job Description - Learning and Instructional Designer / Content Developer

Job Description:
As a Learning and Instructional Designer / Content Developer at Resolution Education, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development of innovative educational content and training programs focused on de-escalation and managing occupational violence and aggression (OVA). Your primary responsibility will be crucial in ensuring that professionals in various industries are safe and their well-being is maintained. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of effective instructional design strategies and educational technology solutions. In addition, your role will be varied and include writing industry specific content including blogs, social media content, case studies, public relations resources, website content updates and evidence based research reports. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, write, and edit scripts and documents that effectively communicate learning content in an engaging and confident voice, suitable for a variety of educational formats including e-learning modules, videos, and simulations.
  • Independently support ongoing research capabilities for sprint development, business development, and stakeholder relationship management, including literary searches, summarising academic papers, and synthesising complex literature.
  • Decompose complex ideas and literature from various fields to develop models and frameworks that articulate these concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the development of models and frameworks that express complex ideas effectively.
  • Ensure all content meets industry standards, regulatory requirements, and reflects current best practices in workplace safety.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to implement technologies and improve educational outcomes.
  • Develop training materials for in-company training programs and courses across diverse industries such as healthcare, government, NDIS, Aged Care, Security, Corrections, Travel and Hospitality, Retail, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design courses and training materials that meet specific industry requirements and adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Strong understanding of brand awareness and the ability to create materials that align with and promote the company’s brand identity.
  • Writing of content for blogs, case studies, newsletters, website content updates, public relations materials and evidence based research papers.

 

As we are fast growing company additional roles may also be available as we develop the role over the next 12 months. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or a related field with a strong emphasis on adult learning and educational methodology.
  • Demonstrated experience in the creation of comprehensive training materials, including e-learning modules, textbooks, facilitator guides, and other instructional resources.
  • Demonstrated experience in large organisations, or a related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing research reports for public or executive audiences.
  • Proven scriptwriting or editing experience, or experience in writing marketing copy.
  • Ability to understand and synthesise academic material, break down large amounts of information, and simplify complex concepts using metaphors.
  • Capacity to generate new creative and imaginative ideas when working on projects.
  • Ability to work independently, self-manage projects to deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and a wide range of web-based applications relevant to an educational environment.
  • Exceptional visual, written, and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to branding guidelines.
  • Commitment to organisational values, policies, and health & safety responsibilities.

     

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar role.
  • A proven track record of writing engaging content.
  • Experience writing in a broad mix of content formats - print, web, socials, newsletters, etc. 
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Attention to details is a must
  • You must be able to work from home in this role
