Job Description - Legal PA (Employment Law) - Sydney

Job Description

Due to continued growth, we're seeking an experienced Legal Personal Assistant / Secretary to join our Sydney legal support team.

About The Role

As a Legal Personal Assistant, you'll provide a combination of legal secretarial and personal assistant support, ensuring the team runs smoothly and efficiently. In this pivotal role, you'll manage day-to-day operations and support one Partner along with a team of lawyers in delivering outstanding client service.

You'll also become part of a welcoming, collaborative network of Legal PAs, with opportunities to engage in firm-wide initiatives that promote health and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and social connection.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Proactively managing emails, diaries, travel arrangements, and expenses.
  • Preparing correspondence, presentations, and overseeing document production.
  • Handling matter administration, compliance checks, and engagement letters.
  • Building strong client relationships and supporting events and business development activities.
  • Managing billing processes and maintaining invoicing requirements.
  • Mentoring junior team members and assisting with broader administrative needs.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, with flexibility to work from home one day per week.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • 3+ years' experience as a Legal Secretary within an employment or disputes team.
  • Proven experience supporting at least one Partner and a team of lawyers.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach and ability to work independently.
  • Tech proficiency with MS Office and practice management systems (Aderant, iTimeKeep, Emburse).
  • Professionalism, discretion, and a positive attitude aligned with our values: Approachable, Bold, Connected.
