Job Description - Lending Support Officer

Over the past 33 years, HomeStart has helped more than 84,000 South Australians into home ownership and we are needed now more than ever before.   To continue to allow us to meet the record growth for our services, we are now looking for a passionate customer advocate to join our team of Lending Support Officers. 

As our first point of contact for our customers, this role plays a key role assisting our customers with a variety of initial home loan enquiries, including general home buying and home loan information, indicative assessments on borrowing amounts and eligibility and referring eligible customers to our Home Loan Specialists.     

Lending Support Officers also work closely with our Home Loan Specialists through all aspects of the home loan application lifecycle through to settlement.

You have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar fast-paced phone based customer service role/s – this could be in retail banking, a banking call centre or mortgage broking.
  • Strong working knowledge of mortgage lending/home loan processes, requirements and legislation.
  • The ability to work autonomously, proving yourself as a strong team player.
  • Effective communication skills (face to face, over the phone and written), negotiation skills and innovation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant information and policies to find solutions and make effective decisions.
  • Comfort with all things digital, including adaptability to changing systems and processes and proficiency in Microsoft Office products

A Certificate IV in Finance & Mortgage Broking will see you stand out from the crowd.

This full-time, hybrid opportunity is based in our Pirie Street office with working hours rostered to cover our opening hours 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday-Friday.  There may also be the opportunity to work some days from our North or South office if this offers you greater work/life balance.
