Job Description - Licensee / General Manager - Dynamic Team

We are in need of a driven Licensee / General Manager to join our awesome team at Private Advertiser in Sydney NSW.

As an experienced Licensee - General Manager: you will manage all aspects of the hotel from bars to food, functions, gaming & promotions. You’ll shape and lead your team, creating a friendly vibe with Top-notch service, and deliver consistent financial results. You will be the face of the hotel, maintaining relations with local organisations including Liquor Accord, Police, council, business groups, neighbours and customers.

  • A Keen eye for detail and a great organisation skills are a must.
  • Hotel presentation and customer service must be held in the highest regard.
  • Manage & build gaming room revenue, customer service & experiences, plan & manage link gaming strategies
  • Manage all operational & financial aspects of the venue, pub-cocktail bar & gaming
  • Manage and maintain the venue's compliance with OLGR, Sydney City Council, NSW Health, and police law/guidelines/policies/procedures
  • Manage & drive business to the upstairs cocktail bar, through product knowledge, service, customer experiences & promotions.
  • Work with managers to ensure, venue maintenance, ordering (budgets), stock takes, and POS system are maintained & accurate on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
  • Roster budgets are controlled on shift
  • Ensure all back of house reporting and cash handling is completed and to an exceptional standard, daily & weekly reports, DTS.
  • Training staff in house, company values, procedures, customer service, & product knowledge
  • Function management, driving all function business, quotes, reservation bookings, Google calendar management, run sheets, etc.
  • Weekly management, marketing  meetings & reporting
  • Ensure operations, manager's opening/closing checklists are completed daily
  • Ensure staff policy is adhered to daily
  • Ensure the venue's house policy is adhered to daily.
  • Bepoz, Deputy, Lightyear, Excel, Reporting

Personal attributes:

An experienced Licensee GM who can drive this established venue into its next chapter of success. Have a hands on operational approach and possess the following skills/attributes:

  • Share the owners' vision of high standards, maintaining & create a welcoming (Local Pub-Bar Vibe), great customer experience, ethical standards, & quality in everything we do
  • Great people manager, with effective leadership, communication and organisational skills, and the ability to recruit, inspire, train and motivate staff to a level of excellence
  • The ability to think creatively to solve problems
  • Strong background in Pub-cocktail bar, gaming, restaurant & food management with retail (bottle shop) experience a plus
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of on-premise and retail POS systems
  • Sound financial and business acumen with demonstrated understanding of relevant KPI's (revenue, GP, labour margins, etc.), business systems and stock controls
  • A strong leader who leads by example
  • Honest and results focused - able to give and receive genuine feedback and take action as needed.
  • A passion & knowledge for beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, food, events, live music & customer experiences
  • Work independently as required
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and multi-task
  • High level of customer service, a friendly and approachable personality and a team player, an uncompromising belief in creating one-of-a-kind memories and cherished experiences for guests
  • A strong work ethic and hands on attitude, always willing to help bar & floor staff where appropriate
  • Able to develop, implement, and maintain procedures.
  • Innovative - proven experience of genuinely implementing new ideas, passionate & have experience in driving business & continuously implementing improvements within the bar, kitchen, entertainment and gaming rooms throughout the venue
  • An affinity with the local community around South Sydney and Inner west to help the wider business understand the demographic and continue strengthening ties with valued locals
  • RSA & RCG NSW
  • Current police clearance
  • Licensee (LT) and Advanced Licensee Training (ALT)
