The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines.

Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, CSA Mine directly employs 500 people including contractors.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and service of light vehicles used in our mining operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet, directly contributing to the productivity and safety of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on light vehicles, including utility vehicles, 4WDs and other vehicles used on-site.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in light vehicles.
• Conduct regular safety checks and ensure all vehicles are compliant with company and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
• Collaborate with other mechanics and departments to ensure timely and efficient vehicle service.
• Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies needed for vehicle maintenance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic, preferably in an industrial or mining setting.
• Relevant certifications or trade qualifications in automotive mechanical (i.e. Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology).
• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Australian Driver’s licence with no restrictions.

Conditions:
This is a 7/7 continuous roster, and commute options include residential or DIDO.

Candidates interested in DIDO will be provided with commute single accommodation and meals at the mine camp. CSA also provides Pool & Gym Reimbursements to our employees and their dependants.

Location:
Located an eight-hour drive to Sydney, nine-hour drive to Melbourne, and a quick three-hour drive to Dubbo, Cobar is a fascinating town rich in mining heritage and natural attractions. Entertainment options include restaurants, pubs, and clubs for dining out. You will be kept busy with a bowling and golf club, rugby and rugby league teams, race club, pony club, Olympic size swimming pool, gym – and more! The town boasts beautiful parks, two reservoirs, picnic areas and playgrounds. The youth club 'Youthie' is a vibrant children’s hub with a games room, gym and weights room, squash courts, sauna, indoor stadium, outdoor basketball court and a skate park.
