Job Description
As our Live Specialist you will coordinate, develop and manage all aspects of live animals within our store network ensuring that best practice standards are met at all times.
A Peek into Your Petstock Day...
Coordinate, develop and manage all aspects of live animals within our stores network ensuring high standards of welfare, husbandry and customer experience.
Maintain strong relationships with our adoption and rescue partners, supporting stores with adoption processes and ensuring all partners meet required welfare expectations and follow appropriate practices.
Ensure all animal procurement follows ethical sourcing practices, working only with reputable breeders and suppliers who meet welfare, legislative and internal compliance requirements.
Organise on-going product and animal care training for the team which can be in the form of face-to face 1:1 training or group training, e-learning, webinars and other forms that are appropriate to deliver required content.
Train the store team in disease management and general husbandry for all in‑store species, and maintain accurate, consistent records to support clear communication and tracking of all live animals and be point of contact
Overseeing licensing training and compliance of audits along with maintaining the status of stores wildlife licensing and Domestic Animal Business Licenses.
Ensure the purchasing, caring for, and selling or adoption of animals meet our own internal guidelines, as well as the standards of practice set out by the relevant legislation relating to the purchasing and selling of animals

Established skills, knowledge & experience in animal care & husbandry
Demonstrated experience in handling a range of animal species, ages & sizes
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
A passion for animal care and ethical sourcing.
