Loader and Machinery Operator - Recycling Centre - Urgent

About the role

We have locations in Port Melbourne and South East Melbourne. This position will be based at our Port Melbourne facility. 

Qualifications & experience

• Must have experience operating heavy machinery. 
• Minimum of 12 months operating experience - excavators, loaders & material handlers are an advantage.
• Ability to take instruction and coordinate work activities in a fast paced environment. 
• Knowledge of recycling industry preferred.
• Must be able to work autonomously.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Operations at Recycling Centre. 
• Conduct daily machine pre-start checks / report of faults and damages on all plant.
• Liaise with site manager to review daily operational requirements. 
• Operate heavy plant and machinery in a waste collection / disposal environment – including but not limited to front end loaders, excavators, and waste handlers.
• Focus on waste recycling and landfill diversion practices.
• Follow direction, establish work priorities, and meet targeted deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Complete appropriate documentation in line with position including time sheets.
• Collaborate with other internal staff to create efficient and safe processes.
