Outback Spirit offers a range of unique adventure tours, desert safaris and luxury short stays across our beautiful country. The Role

Outback Spirit’s Moreton Wilderness Lodge is located at the historic Moreton Telegraph Repeater Station and is one of the only accommodation options between Weipa and Bamaga in Cape York, Queensland.

We are seeking an experienced couple to manage our small team in an extremely beautiful and remote location for the dry season, ending in September. Your accommodation and all meals are provided.

Both roles are very hands-on managing the day-to-day operations of the property including leading and managing staff, carrying out maintenance, guest activities, infrastructure, rosters, logistics and administration. Specifically, you will be responsible for creating an unforgettable environment and experiences for our guests.

The role will also involve, but is not limited to:

  • Actively working towards meeting the Net Promoter Scores (NPS)
  • Ensure the team is delivering impeccable guest-facing experience
  • Support and lead the team to deliver an exceptional food and beverage experience to our guests
  • Ensuring budgets are met and cost-controlled across the lodge
  • Support and lead the team in providing immaculate and high standard of guest accommodation
  • Drive a culture of safety, ensuring all incidents and hazards are reported and investigated in a timely manner
  • Complete all administrative tasks as required by the operations team
  • Take an active role in inductions, and staff training
  • Other management tasks required for the successful running of the lodge

About You

You will have a passion to travel and a desire to experience working and living in remote locations with a love for sharing unique and iconic experiences. The ideal candidate will have:

  • The availability to start ASAP and work until the end of September
  • Proven experience as managers
  • Previous experience working remotely
  • Passion and enthusiasm for hospitality, travel, tourism and adventure
  • Pride in delivering exceptional standards of service, ensuring that guests leave us with memories that last a lifetime
  • High levels of interpersonal and communications skills
  • Proven experience in general hospitality
  • The ability to think on your feet while delivering within set time frames
  • A Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
  • Remote First Aid certification (must include CPR)
  • Food Safety certificate
