ABOUT THE ROLE: 

Join our team and play a pivotal role in creating unforgettable experiences across our eight unique lodges, nestled in the stunning landscapes of Western Australia, the Northern Territory, and Queensland. Each lodge offers its own captivating scenery and luxurious accommodations, all while sharing a commitment to exceptional guest service and high standards that exceed expectations.

As Lodge Maintenance Manager, you will provide crucial technical and logistical support to troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance our lodge assets, ensuring that every corner exudes luxury and comfort. Your expertise will be instrumental in upholding our commitment to excellence, allowing our guests to fully immerse themselves in the breathtaking beauty and hospitality that Outback Spirit is known for.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Provide operational maintenance support for local site management across all Outback Spirit lodges.
• Oversee ongoing maintenance activities across our lodges, efficiently troubleshooting issues as needed and ensuring timely execution of preventative and scheduled maintenance activities.
• Travel to remote lodges as required for diagnosis, planning and ongoing monitoring, representing Outback Spirit in a professional and respectful manner.
• Respond to all maintenance requests in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to both guest experiences and the living conditions of our staff.
• Develop and implement effective preventative maintenance procedures, ensuring streamlined processes, efficient inventory systems, and timely reporting of consumables and spare parts within budget.
• Manage relationships with contractors and suppliers, negotiating pricing and service level agreements to achieve optimal value.
• Maintain up-to-date compliance registers and ensure satisfactory records of all maintenance activities.
• Liaise professionally with Lodge Managers and staff regarding maintenance requirements, fostering collaborative relationships.
• Address electrical, plumbing, structural and refrigeration breakdowns, conducting on-site assessments to uphold high standards of asset reliability and availability.
• Collaborate with support functions such as Workplace Health & Safety, Human Resources, Aviation and Finance to effectively direct staff queries and coordinate maintenance works effectively.

ABOUT YOU: 

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership and communication skills, with proven experience in managing operations remotely. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to take swift action while leading effectively. You have the ability to focus on multiple tasks and to effectively prioritise those more urgent than others.

Requirements: 

• You have 5+ years' experience in a project management or business management role.
• You have experience (ideally a trade) in electrical, plumbing and/or refrigeration.
• A sound understanding of the tourism industry is preferred.
• You possess superior leadership skills.
• With a proactive approach, you are dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for both our guests and business operations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must, alongside strong organisational abilities.
• Excellent administration skills.
