Job Description - Machinery Sales - Rural

The Company Riverina Co-operative Society is your local store servicing the needs of the community with expert, easy-to-understand advice on a range of products and services. They offer diverse services from general hardware, machinery, agronomy services, farming equipment, animal and pet needs, clothing, and rural support.

With over 3000 members ranging from local community, weekend warriors right through to commercial farmers, members are highly connected to the business and receive benefits and special pricing.
The Role As the  Machinery Sales - Rural , your role is ‘all about the farmer’ where you will focus on and develop the machinery sales and product portfolio for the Riverina Co-operative (The Co-op) Group. Your overarching responsibility is to engage and listen to the local community and members to understand their machinery needs and develop sales pipeline and opportunity.
You will use your knowledge of farm machinery at all levels to educate and advise members and retail customers on smart and sensible purchases by:
  • developing sales leads and converting sales
  • general customer support and follow up
  • stock control and presentation of division to maximise sales
  • capturing and reporting on sales pipeline
  • proactively development the machinery division growth plan strategy
  • deliver a positive customer relationship aligned with the core Co-op values and professional best practice supporting its ‘all about the farmer’
  • represent the Co-op in the community and at field days
  • The Person To be successful in this exciting and team orientated role you will have:
  • experience as a team player within a retail environment with exceptional customer service
  • worked with customers/members to deliver positive relationships, and product demonstration
  • a strong knowledge of farming production practices and farm machinery is essential
  • experience is managing retail stock levels and presentation to maximise sales
  • a background in demonstrating and selling products & services
  • skills to order equipment/machinery in line with forecast and pipeline to maximise profitability
  • a passion to understand machinery markets and share with the business to influence sales
  • a background in working in a sales accountability environment

    You may have strong retail experience or be from farming where you have a real passion for farm machinery and would like to ‘talk the talk’ with members on what is the machinery that is best for their needs.
